President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated His Majesty King Haakon VIII on his accession to the throne of Norway.
In a message sent following the King’s oath of allegiance to the Norwegian Constitution before Parliament, President Muizzu conveyed congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives.
The President expressed confidence that King Haakon VIII’s leadership will uphold the longstanding values and traditions of the Norwegian Monarchy and guide the Norwegian people with dedication.
President Muizzu also highlighted the friendly relations between the Maldives and Norway, describing the bilateral relationship as being based on mutual respect and shared values.
He expressed hope that cooperation and friendship between the two countries will continue to strengthen during the King’s reign.
The President concluded his message by wishing King Haakon VIII good health and well-being and peace, progress and prosperity for the people of Norway.
