The Civil Court has officially begun using the Integrated Case Management System (ICMS), marking a significant step towards the digital transformation of court operations and improved service delivery.
The system was inaugurated by the President of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Al-Ustaz Husni Mubarak, at a special launch ceremony held at the Civil Court.
Speaking at the event, Civil Court Chief Judge Al-Ustaza Mariyam Waheeda said the Civil Court is among the courts that handle the highest number of cases in the country. She noted that, in the absence of a modern system, all administrative work at the court had previously been carried out manually.
She explained that with the number of cases expected to increase in the future, continuing with a manual system would pose serious challenges. Therefore, she said, the introduction of an integrated digital system is a crucial step towards strengthening court operations and improving efficiency.
According to the Chief Judge, the single, integrated platform will significantly speed up case processing and automate many routine administrative tasks. She added that the digitisation of all case-related documents will make information more accessible and contribute to smoother and more effective delivery of justice.
The Civil Court is the second court to adopt the Integrated Case Management System. The system was first introduced at the Criminal Court in August last year and has been in use there for the past five months.
Speaking about its impact, Criminal Court Chief Judge Al-Ustaz Adam Mohamed highlighted the importance of establishing such a system. He said ICMS has become a secure digital platform that stores all case-related information in one place, making it easier to manage documents and organise trials.
With the introduction of the new system, significant simplifications are expected in hearing procedures and administrative requirements. The Civil Court said ICMS will make court services faster, more efficient, and more accessible to the public.
