Maldivian, the national airline, has announced seasonal international flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur to cater to increased travel demand during the December–January school holidays.
The carrier will operate direct weekly services on both routes: flights to Kuala Lumpur every Sunday with return fares starting at USD 335, and flights to Bangkok every Tuesday with round-trip fares from USD 399.
The temporary routes expand Maldivian’s network beyond its regular international operations, which currently include five cities across China and India.
In addition to meeting holiday demand, the move aligns with Maldivian’s broader growth strategy. The airline recently revealed plans to appoint an agent in South Korea as part of its efforts to tap new markets and diversify its international portfolio.
